Getting a pet bird?

I'm getting a bird soon, and while I wanted a conure at first (a type of parrot) I realized they aren't right for me, parrots need a lot if attention or another bird companion, they need bigger cages too, and as you said, they cost much more. I'm getting a diamond dove in a few days, they're small and fairly quiet, and much cheaper than parrots but they're still great birds! I suggest looking up all the breeds you're thinking of getting and choosing which one best fits your time, budget, and personality. :)

I have owned many birds and in your case would suggest a conure or cockatiel. I would watch some videos and do research on birds that fit your interest. They eat many fruits, veggies, seeds, and berries. But NEVER feed any bird avocado because it shuts down their liver. Also no onions. Hope this helps.

I've always thought bird were cool pets, especially parrots, but they cost soo much! Around 700-900 dollars. Are they worth it? What do they eat? Just some kind of pellets or fresh fruits and vegetables? Do they poop a lot? I really like parrots because they talk and you can teach them tricks. Is there another bird that could be found cheaper but would still be able to be as smart? What beads are the best? And also is it better to buy/adopt them when there young?..or does it matter?

-Thanks-
