It was probably an inchworm. They are small but larger than a maggot. They are actually a caterpillar, but unlike caterpillars, they only have legs on the front and back of their bodies, so when they walk they have a sort of looping movement. They often are found hanging from a very fine silken thread that is nearly invisible, which makes them to appear to float in mid-air. Below is a photo of one. The one in the photo is green but they can be tan, beige, or cream colored too.



Could be an inchworm or could be the caterpillar of any number of other kinds of small moths.

There was a small maggot like bug (but much to small to be?, about a cm long and not even a mm thick on my brothers laptop moving like a caterpilla. THEN about 20 mins later we saw another almost floating near us in the room, not sure whether i was floating or on some kind of web or string. HELP im terrified of bugs and so is my boyfriend. Are they dangerous? How to get rid etc? Any help MUCH appreciated!
