Yeah actually make sure you know for a fact that it's hurt, if your not sure just keep an eye on it and see if the parents come, if they don't come within an hour, then take it to a vet
Is it too late to call a vet? Keep an eye on him if it is and wait till you can get a hold of one in the morning. Call and ask for advice if it's not. In the mean time maybe taking it out of the dangerous world is a good idea. Use gloves so you won't get sick but anything could grab if it can't fly; it's defenseless. Out it in a box and give it water and maybe some seed to eat. It shouldn't move much if it's hurt, again making it vulnerable. I'd advise you to not leave it alone, please don't. Vets can help and will actually possibly have ideas on how to fix the issue. Get in touch with them. Good luck! :)
Edit: Allanas could be right. Is it limping? Is it obviously hurt? The parents won't come back if you touch it so make sure you know it's hurt. However no bird I've seen has EVER left their young so just make sure. You have to have the bird's best interest at heart. Again, good luck.
LEAVE IT ALONE!
Baby birds are attended by their parents, but only if you LEAVE THEM ALONE.
It's not hurt.
It's not sick.
It's just learning to fly. Babies need to rest a lot. It's parents know where it is and will feed it as needed. But only if you leave it alone.
I heard a abundance of chirping in the backyard from a bird, and it sounded like it was in pain. I walked out a bit, bein caucious and moving slow to not scare anyone, and I found a baby bird on the side of the house, trying to fly over the fence. I slowly headed towards it, as it suddenly sat down and watched me.
I then moved across from the bird and sat down, just trying to observe the little guy.
He chripped a couple timed at me, and even tried walking towards me, but his leg or wing seems to be broken. What should I do, or should I do anything? After I left after a while, a couple of other birds came, chirping but then left as it started getting darker out. Please help!
