Well yes and no. A Crocodile eats a large range of animals underwater they eat fish and turtles some Crocodiles have been known to attack people (remember animals only go by what nature has put into them that has worked for thousands of years before man showed up) most attacks happened because the animal and man came together at the wrong place at the wrong time. Some attacks happened because the person in question and his buddies thought it would be fun to corner the animal in result some always ends up losing an arm or leg, or worse.

Crocodiles and Alligators also attack on land as well (remember these animals been around since the time of the Dinosaurs) they hear an animal (remember noise travels further in water) such as a zebra or an antelope getting a drink of water (these animals are stealth hunters they will stay underwater until the animal lower their guard) then snap up comes the hunter drags the prey into the water drowning it then all his buddies all come in for all you-can-it dinning event.
