Do male birds "nest"?

great, thank you

I only know about wild birds, and in nature, the males and females must work together to be successful at raising young. Many birds have the nest built by the male, and the nicest nest gets the girl. Sometimes nest building is a mating activity, they work together. Sometimes the female builds, and the male brings nesting goodies for approval. It is a natural part of life, wanting to mate and raise young. I would guess that Yes, your domestic birds still have the same instincts. Once the nest is built, eggs laid, they take turns monitoring the temperature of the eggs. In some cases, the female sets and the male brings food for her.

Nature provides the changing of seasons, and this is the indicator for many birds to mate. The height of the sun on the horizon is one of the ways they know it's time to head to summer breeding grounds, or home to winter feeding grounds. It would make sense that your birds are reacting to a similar schedule, especially if they have natural light nearby.

I have a timney grey, a budgie and 2 ringnek parkeets.

All of them are male except the budgie.

Recently the one ringneck is following and feeding the budgie, he screams at me when I pick her up

follows her everywhere and they look like they sit and cuddle.

He use to chase her away, but now they are "in love"

Is it possible that male birds have, like a time that they feel they should mate?

And also, the timney grey, if i put him on my bed, and i am busy, he looks like he is scratching the sheet, trying to make a nest.

And if i give him my lipice, to play with (the type that is just a round little container), he puffs up

and puts it under him, and tries to sit on it (it is to big though)

But doesn't bite when i take it.

Thus the reason i am asking if they also have like a " mating time".
