Do birds leave weird odors in the house?

Birds are messy. They will burrow into their food dish and kick stuff out all over. They give off dust/dander, and very small fine fluffy feathers that travel all over the room. If you do not take the whole cage apart once a month and thoroughly clean it with bleach+water in the winter and pressure or spray wash outside in the summer it will have a minor odor.

Some birds - green cheeks and sun conures - give off a nasty smell when their hormones go into mating season mode. I know - we have these birds.

Plenty of obnoxiously rich people have all kinds of birds in the house. They don't have any odor at all unless you don't clean up the cages, and once daily is the minimum you should be doing that for the health of you and the bird alike.

You have to clean the cage daily for it not to have a smell, And if you want to keep seeds off the floor of your home, I suggest getting the food and water pipes that you put on the side of the cage, cause my bird loved to kick his food out of his food bowl.

Yes. They stink.

I'm trying to convince my mom to let me have a pet bird. I have shown lots of responsibility and respect and stuff like that, so she is gonna think about it. She is one of those picky and very neat moms, so she is paranoid about the bird having an odor or weird smell. If so, how can i get rid of it?
