The cavemen would stand a chance if they were cro magnons in a relatively advanced, later state, of no more than say 35,000 years ago, with fire and good spears. If they had torches--large sticks with fire at the end, they could ward off attacks, and spear the rex. Cro magnons are thought to have wiped out mammoths which were as massive as T. rex so they might well have won albeit with difficulty.
Neanderthals might be able to kill it but it would certainly kill most of them in the process IMO. They were big and fast. Some studies tend to indicate they could run up to 40 MPH. Even if they could only run 20, they would probably be able to catch people.
No, not even a group of lions or even grizzly bears would defeat an adult T-Rex. You know reptiles are how stronger than mammals.
