Cockatiel screaming when I put him in cage?

You are not ignoring him. Quote "He calmed down and every couple of minutes I would go in there, talk to him, give him a treat and come back out to do more homework". If he is screamimg for you and you go give him treats your training him to scream.

I know its not easy to ignore them. You feel guilty LOL.

I have a trouble doing it myself.

the bird doesn't want to be caged up. understand why. mine did the same thing.

Sometimes I have to put our new 4 month old cockatiel in his cage when I need to get things done, like cleaning and homework. I have 2 cats so I can't just let him out unsupervised when I'm focusing on other things.

He's very attached to both my fiance and I and likes spending most of his time out of his cage with us. I spent time with him this morning with him, watching TV and took him to shower with me. But when I started my homework I put him in his cage and he would not stop screaming. I tried to ignore it but needing to concentrate I moved his cage to another room, covered it and shut the door. He calmed down and every couple of minutes I would go in there, talk to him, give him a treat and come back out to do more homework. When he was finally quiet for a while, I brought the cage back into the living room with me, still covered. When he started making noise again, I put him back in the room with his cage covered and now he won't stop screaming at all.

I'm not sure what to do. Will he eventually stop? He's been screaming constantly for 20 minutes now in the other room. I read to ignore unwanted behavior but it doesn't seem to be working. When he hears me, he gets louder. What else can I do?

Thanks for the help.
