Ok I've had a cockatiel for about 3 and a half years now. Here's what I hve to say. At first it's going to be scared, how would you feel if you got put in a box and into a cage at some strangers house. For the first couple days, talk to it, whistle to it. Give it treats. First time I had him on my arm, I got him there because I was holding millet on the other side.

1. Occasionally they will, it won't draw blood unlike big parrots unless they bite hard (only drew blood once). And yeah only if they are annoyed or feel threatened.

2. Yes I would never risk that

3. Yeah he sits on my shoulder a lot, don't freak out if he poops on your back. he'll fly off to perch on something but he likes to sit on my shoulder. If he's feeling really pissy he might peck a little at your ear but that barely happens and it doesn't hurt

4. Not everywhere but you have to watch where he goes because yes he will poop wherever he wants. It's not like hell poop 24/7 though just once in a while.

just began considering getting a cockatiel and i have a few questions..

1.do they bite and if they do is it only if they get really annoyed?

2. if i took it outside would it just fly away?

3 would it sit on my shoulder or would it fly away or bite my ears or something?

4 if i let it fly around my house would it poo everywhere?
