I don't know if it helps but my bird also does this to stay warm but he is a bugging ton

Her leg's might be sore since she hasn't walked the normal way for a long time without the splint. Give her a couple days and it will heal it's self

I have a 2 day old chick who had a rather traumatic hatch (see my other question) and we gave her a splint for curled toes and they are now straight. However she can only hobble around and won't put weight on her right leg. Can you give me any advice. Also, what would be the long term effects if this if I couldn't get it sorted? Thanks
