Caring for 5 day old yellow vented bulbuls?

It will kill you, but wait. That one parent will be back. The best thing you can do is pile up food for her to get easily, to feed the chicks, and keep the cat in for a couple of weeks.

I did this with a robin who lost her mate, I robbed my brothers worm farm and piled earthworms up for her to feed her babies. It was fun to watch and allowed her to do the work of two parents.

Also, the injured bird may surprise you and recover. They often do.

But aren't cat bites fatal to birds?

Hey

There's this nest in my garden and it has three chicks that hatched on Wednesday. I know, I was there. I saw the parents feed them everday since.

But then today, I was out to check on them to see if they were still getting fed, as they nested in a palm tree that everyone passes everyday to get to the car. Then I turned around and my cat was there, all cute and stuff. Except that she had one of the parent birds in her mouth. I literally screamed of terror and ran and caught her by the tail (soz I wasn't thinking) and I saw that one of the wings (or at least the feathers) were either missing or twister. I pryed the cat's mouth open in the next minute, coz I saw the bird was still alive then it flew off the second it was open. It landed on a palm tree and kind of staggered before taking off again.

So me, shaken, started telling my cat off (but she wasn't paying any attention) really loudly. But get this. The OTHER parent bird was there, with a fly in it's mouth and it was chirping crazily since I was standing really close to the nest. When I finally realized this the bird was gone, most probably scared. I messed up so bad, I don't want three little lives to die because of me!

I know what to feed them and stuff and I basically know how to take care of them but I don't know if I should take them from their nest yet? I'm inside the house and I'm watching and the parent bird is there with food in it's mouth but it's not coming. I'm not letting out my cats, either. Any help?
