Different species won't likely produce viable offspring. Occasionally some will produce hybrids if they are closely enough related.

But there does not seem to be a lot of hybrids recorded in the literature, so as a general rule in it is not a very probably occurrence and adding to the problem is that the delineation of species boundaries is not always clear, since there is high variability with in species and populations.
