Can sharks use their senses in the air?

I know that sharks have jelly-like filled pores on their snouts and these react with the electrical impulses in the water. I believe the flow of actual water is necessary seeing as they have this type of design and not nostrils with cilia to capture air particles containing odors.

From what I understand. sharks have a variety of senses, such as the ability to smell blood in massive amounts of water or sense electric nerve impulse of their prey. (I could be wrong about their senses, please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Theoretically, could a shark use these senses in the air or would the water be necessary?
