Can i keep an orphaned starling as a pet?

You need to find a wildlife rehabilitation center. That is the bird's best chance of surviving. Plus they know how to properly care for it in such a way that it can be successfully released into the wild when it is old enough. There are so many things that could go wrong trying to keep the bird as a pet. For starters, a wild animal will usually be pretty miserable being kept as a pet. If you can't find a wildlife rehabber, I suggest you read this article:

I read it just the other day when I found a baby bird that my local wildlife rescue center wouldn't take because it was not native to this area. I still have it and am planning on releasing him as soon as he is old enough... :) In the mean time, try to handle yours as little as possible (except to feed it) to avoid making it tame - which will make it MUCH more difficult for it to survive on his/her/it's own. I really hope this helps!

I dont think there is a law against keeping starlings as pets. Once its fledged though you would probably be better letting it go. A wild animal should not be kept as a pet. If your neighbours cats get a lot of birds suggest they put bells on their collars to alert the birds.

I suggest you message animalmadhouse on their fb page, they have had starlings before and can help give you advice on what to do. They had a starling
