Use just water only, all birds including ducks have a special protective coating on their feathers which will be taken off if you use shampoo and so they will not have the natural protection to their feathers any more.
Ducks do have a bit of distinctive smell to them, I remember our duck did, it's natural.
If you do that you'll wash all the oils out of its feathers and it'll sink when you put it in water and drown it. If you don't know what you are doing leave well alone
No!! You'll wash off natural oils. Just give them plenty of water to splash about in.
