Can I take my bird in public?

Do it that would be awesome

It does depend on where in the world you are.

Regulations can be the pits.

I am in New Zealand and I take Dexter most places.

I do not do super markets.

I do take him into some foods places, even though it is most likely against the law.

Banks post office veg and fruit shop shopping malls, pubs. and a lot of other shops. pet shops. We have even gone to the beach.

Sometimes it pays to ask first.

He goes to work with me most days and gets to meet a good number of people.

And most cases he is well excepted.

if you are in the US the same laws apply to birds as they do to other pets so if their is food in the store they may not go in. Some food places will allow you to sit outside with your animal if available. I've taken my parrot into a few stores before but they did not sell food.

As long as it's on your shoulder and won't fly, then who would it bother? I'm sure it would amuse all the little children passing by. I've seen a man taking his Macaw to the bank.

There aren't many places where you can take your bird. I've only taken my bird to the park and the local nursery shop (she's quite famous there ^^). I'm absolutely positive that you can't take birds to Safeway, but maybe Starbucks. My local Starbucks has a place right outside where you can sit and drink; but you can't take the birds inside.

We recently got a goffin cockatoo. She is super sweet and I would love to take her places but am not sure if that is allowed. For example, can I take her to a Starbucks or Safeway? We are planning on getting her a harness. We already take her in the car and outside around the yard; it would just be cool if I could take her shopping and stuff like that.
