Birds live in trees and hang onto branches, a few like pigeons walk on the floor so I reckon a few budgies could do both yet I would not worry if yours favours branches.

So my budgie is very well behaved and hand tame and has been for a long time. But this will sound stupid. My budgie walks on perches and stands on perches, but when you try and put him on a flat surface like a counter, dresser, floor or even shoulder he dose not know how to walk!! Is this normal??!!
