Birds that are cheaper than a cockatiel?

You might want to start out with a parakeet until you SAVE up enough to buy a cockatiel. A Cockatiel can be a lifetime commitment as they live for a LONG time!!! I don't remember how much they cost; but you might want to check out the price of a Cockatoo. They are from the same family & I think they might be cheaper!!!

Well i live in Florida and Ive own many birds and ive seen many breeds of birds along with their prices.

This is all in Florida

Cockatiels cost $50-$100

Budgies cost $10-$30

Green cheek conures cost $75-$300

Sun conures cost $200-$400

Gouldian finches cost $45-$95

Macaws cost $400-$20,000

Cockatoos cost $700-$2,000

Canaries cost $85-$300

African grey parrots cost $500-$1,200

Rainbow lorikeet cost $250-$900

Amazons cost $600-$1,600

These are the most i can think of because they draw my attention.

Budgies or parakeets would be the cheapest,

Then love birds, then cockatiels

Monks parakeets or quaker parakeets

Then conures

Good luck

Look on craigslist for cheap birds,

I think a parakeet is a really cute, cheap, and easy to train bird to start out with or have. They are only around $20. Parakeets live for about 10-20 years. They are small and cute and lovable and pretty easy to take care of. Just make sure to play with them, change their food and water daily, and change the cage about once a month. Parakeets are so easily trained that I taught my old one how to play soccer, and my new one how to play hide and seek. So much fun! I recommend only getting one at a time though because getting 2, they will not pay attention to you. Have fun!

I raise birds and usually the smaller birds don't like to be petted. But if you are determined to have a bird try an English Budgie, their larger than parakeets and a little gentler. If your new pet doesn't have to be a bird you might consider a guinea pig, they like to be petted, bathed, brushed, and will love you forever when you give them a hand full of grass from your yard.

You can always get a cheap one at your local rescue or shelter. Parakeets aren't expensive but some like to be petted and others don't. But they are cute cute cute! They are also smart, I taught mine how to play basketball!

To be honest please keep my advice and go for an Indian Ringneck Parakeet. If u buy a baby ringneck of at least 5 months u could get what cannot from a cokatiel!

Budgies are cheap, but Cockatiels live much longer and are more trainable.

I want to buy a bird that can be tamed easily and fast can would like to be petted. I thought a cockatiel would be perfect but its really expensive what other kinds of birds are there can are sort of like a cockatiel and can be tamed fast
