Bird acts like she barely knows me? Molting?

shes starting her first molt and in wondering if thats the case because she usually loves when i pet her but now she runs from my hands and acts very cranky.

Yes, unfortunately the poor bird is molting. Molting is slightly painful, so it is true that the bird would be extremely cranky. Wouldn't you be the same if your hairs felt like they were being ripped out of your skull?

Anyway, I suggest you leave the bird alone for a while, until she has finished molting.

It is very uncomfortable for birds when they molt. She's grumpy because she's so uncomfortable. There are certain foods and supplements for molting. They would really help her get through this. Visit your local pet store and see what you can find for her. She will very much appreciate it.

Well DUH...what do you think would happen when the skin is going through MAJOR irritation?? Leave the bird alone for petes sake.
