If you still think you might want one Id suggest you check out mytoos.com and do plenty of reading before you even consider bringing one home. Id then suggest you adopty rather than buy as there are thousdsands of birds in rescues out there waiting for a good homer. Buying only adds top the problem by creating space fpor another baby to be produced and gives breeders more finacial incentive to breed these poor birds that dont belong in the pet trade. Be part of the solution, noty the problem ;)
I've got a sulphur and it is seriously one of the worst things I have ever bought, it screams like nothing on earth(you can easily still hear it a couple of hundred meters away), and given half a chance it destroys anything it can get it's beak onto. We started letting it out for a fly around and it pulled all the windscreen rubbers out of a visitors car, and when it started flying next door (to the neighbours that had complained about it's screaming) we had to quit letting it out in the garden.
It's quite friendly with people it knows (some times over friendly and tries to have sexytime with humans) but it takes a lot to get to know strangers.
If we let it in the house it amuses itself by ripping up magazines under the coffee table.
It's got razor sharp claws too.
She can say a few words.
The only cool thing about her is that if you tell a joke she will laugh, sometimes she will even laugh before the humans get the joke, she must recognise from the tone of your voice that you are saying something funny.
If you are looking for something annoying but not quite as bad pink and grey galahs are okay, they don't scream quite as loud, still pretty destructive but I think they are overall friendlier.
And the damn things live for like fifty years or more too, I feel sorry for whatever one of my kids gets to inherit it.
