Mosquitoes are food source for many different animals- both the adults and the young (larvae). They feed creatures such as birds, bats, and frogs (just to name a few).
Also, they are an important vector (carrier) of diseases, so the disease-causing organisms also get plenty of benefit. I know we only think of them as pests, but they are living and are just trying to survive, too!
So, mosquitoes are an important part of the ecosystem.
And I'm not talking about bats eating them and them having a place in the food chain-any living thing does but it is notabenefit.
I'm talking about an actual benefit because for all I know, they bite, itch, and spread disease, and most of all are annoying in general so i was just wondering if there ARE any benefits to these pests!
