Are northern pike considered freshwater sharks?

No. If you run into a real freshwater shark, say, in Lake Nicaragua, it is likely to be a bull shark. However, other species of shark sometimes run up rivers in their search for food. They don't live there, though.

The northern pike is a species of carnivorous fish of the genus Esox.

A shark is a shark, a pike is a pike.
