Are elk aggressive?

And can I keep one?

Wild animals are usually not known to attack people/be aggressive in the wild, but when you keep it in captivity, they will eventually lose fear of humans.

I don't really have much experience with elk except when studying wolves, but I really wouldn't try to keep one as a pet. Healthy elk can be very aggressive (male and female) and although there aren't many documented attacks, they're unpredictable. They are huge animals and they can be very intimidating to people who have no experience with them whatsoever.

Bulls and mother elk especially - they are aggressive to predators and who knows what that might uncover whenever you try treating them like pets or normal cows.

There are people who own elk and breed them, but you might want to check your state's laws. Its illegal to own wild animals in some states. But even then, if you have no experience with elk or you're not a licensed biologist, which you're clearly not, you're out of luck.

Elk are wild animals . They are herd animals also. So having only one would not be fair to it. Bulls and cows with calves can be very aggressive. They are not pets.

Yes

they are very aggressive....especially bucks. I do not recommend getting one.
