Apartment parrots? (mini macaw , eclectus ,... and cuddly)?

If you have had a bird that screams, then you are not giving it the attention it needs. A bird needs between 2 & 4 hours a day minimum, every day of socialization with its owner. Otherwise, you are being unfair to the bird and causing it distress. If you do not have at least 2 hours every day to devote to your bird, get to smaller birds so that they have each other. Cockatiels are idea for that because they will be devoted to each other when you are not around and when you are around, each one will be devoted to you. They will not require nearly as much time with you because they have each other.

My Indian Ringneck is moody and has a very strong personality. He is impatient and demanding. I still love him but, that is his personality. My conure is less demanding and more cuddly, less of a talker than my IRN but, he does talk. His voice is lower and softer than the higher pitch of the IRN. The conure is not nearly as loud as the IRN.

Whatever ever you choose, if you only have one bird, make sure you have a minimum of 2 hours a day every day to spend with him and some birds will require 4 hours.

Get a budgie (parakeet), parrotlet, or Quaker. I am not super experienced in parrots (a little experience here and there) but I can tell you I have NEVER heard of a large parrot species that was not noisy as all heck. I could be wrong, but they all seem WAY too noisy to keep in even a "sound proof" apartment- I know of someone who complains you can her mom's birds screaming from all the way down the road. So that leaves medium and small parrots. I would avoid conures as well- you could hear our neighbor's sun conure screaming in their house from inside OUR house (and we aren't even that close). Like I said, go with a parrotlet, budgie (parakeet), or Quaker if you must keep a parrot in an apartment. I had a budgie when I was little, my friend has a Quaker, and I keep hearing that parrotlets are really good (and NOT noisy birds). I've heard parrotlets called good apartment parrots before.

I have experience with parrots , and i did lots of researching

and i am getting a parrot soon , a larger one this time

and i do live in an apartment , but the walls are pretty sound proof , its just my parents i worry about ...

so occasional scream , is ok , but if its constant squawking and screaming , nonono

i also cant stand high pitched noises

i was thinking about indian ringneck or pionus , but heard they werent that cuddly

and NO conures , unless you know a really quiet aratinga species , id like to go larger then the green cheek , etc...

i was thinking about a mini macaw , noble or yellow collared ? are they loud ? playful ? cuddly ?

also the eclectus , i am aware of their diet , and its not that difficult for me , but are they very loud ?

lorikeets were also on my list ...

and white bellied caiques as well ... just wanted to hear your opinion about which one i should get
