I'm thinking of building an outdoor aviary to house a rescued (and unfortunately un-releasable for various reasons) wild bird and possibly some finch companions for him.
He's been raised indoors (but with frequent trips outside in his portable cage to soak up some sun), and any finches I get are likely to have been as well, so is there a safe way to acclimate them to being outdoors?
I would get an indoor aviary, but when he sunbathes outside he just seems so happy - it would seem a shame to just put him under a a UV lamp...
