A question about the swans in boston public garden?

Birds will lay eggs regardless of a male being in the mix. They will not be fertile however.. In many situations when there is no male, females will continue on with the nesting behavior and lay.

The eggs from chickens that you eat are typically not fertilized and therefore are suitable for our consumption. There is no such thing as LESBIAN swans or any other animals. Lesbian is reserved for HUMAN females.

Has it occurred to you that swans have the brain the size of a PEA? They are not very smart and typically are very hostile to other species...which means that they can survive pretty well. If your attitude to everything is hostile...everything (animals) tend to stay away.

Well as far as I know, the swans are lesbians and both are female. I think this is kinda unique, but there's one thing I dont understand. It seems that they have eggs in their nests, but where and how did these eggs come from? I mean, there is no male swan to provide sperms for the female swans to lay eggs, so biologically how were the eggs produced?

I thought the eggs might be produced when the garden used to have male swans mating with the females, but apparently it's not true since swans are not like humans, they mate for life. If a male swan is introduced to the garden, he will not be able to mate with a female, and instead he will be driven away by the two females.

Now this is confusing, do birds like swan lay eggs without the need of a male? Sure the eggs wont hatch since both swans are female, but the presence of eggs is enough odd. To me this is like a woman getting pregnant without having sex. Can any animal experts explain this phenomenon?
