I bought a budgie that was quite old, he lived one and a half years with me and died of old age. He was the best budgie I had, I tamed him easily and he was the most affectionate of all my budgies, he would sit on my shoulder and play with my hair or climb on my head and build a nest in my hair. He never bit me and almost learned to talk in the short time we got together.
Don't let anyone tell you that a 9 week old budgie is too old. They obviously don't know what they are talking about.
So I am going to be buying a 9, almost 10 week old budgie. I've been told that this age is too old for some reason?
It has been hand raised and is tamed, I am buying it off a private seller, who my sister knows and trusts.
I'm just confused as to why I have heard and read that budgies are best bought at 6 weeks? So, are there disadvantages to getting one at 10 weeks?
I just want a little friend who can chill with me outside of his cage before bedtime, and who I can teach to trust me and not be shy.
